Which Plus Size Swimsuit for 2009?
It had become quite a mission to find a plus size swimsuit that would suit my sixty-eight year old mother. With the help from a friend we visited swimwear specialists at our local aquatic center, then toured the local shopping malls, and ended up at the Esplanade visiting the beach and resort shops to see what types of swimsuits they were carrying. You can be forgiven for thinking that we had nothing better to do, because the whole exercise of finding just the right plus size swimsuit took us many hours over the course of two whole weeks.
Why did we have to go to this much trouble you ask? Well mother needs a plus size swimsuit to take with her on her cruise. She has booked a two week holiday to the Bahamas and is travelling with a party of other seniors. Personally, I think she is up to something, because she was so fixed on finding just the right plus size halter swimsuit that the whole exercise became almost comical. Maybe one of the gentlemen of her group has caught her eye? It is hard to imagine why else she is going to so much trouble. I must admit though, the plus size swimsuit that we eventually bought was absolutely lovely, and it flattered her figure so well. She looked not only years younger but pounds lighter, so we had to admit that the effort was well worth it.
Visiting all these different stores it was very obvious
that there was a great discrepancy between the cheaper and more expensive
versions of plus size womens swimsuits. I always thought that there would not be
that much difference once you put the plus size swimsuit on but I was very
wrong. Firstly there was the cut and manufacture, and then the fabric used was
far superior on the dearer swimsuits.
The reinforcing was better and the cups offered far more support. The plus size
swimsuit that we ended up buying looked like it had been made for her as it
fitted perfectly in all the right places.
All I can say now that this strange exercise is over, is that I hope that she is successful in impressing whoever is the recipient of all this attention. I wonder if he will ever know that it took the effort of three women to purchase this plus size swimsuit, as well as many hours, lots of miles and wearing out many sales assistants on the way. It was fun though, and I for one will be looking forward to seeing the photos of her lounging on the deck by the pool looking glamorous and having hopefully lots and lots of fun.
